Diversified Full Spine

This technique is the basis for many other techniques that have been developed throughout the past.

Thomson Technique

The Thomson Technique developed out of the work from Dr. Derifield (Detroid, Michigan) and the development of a “Drop Table” mechanism (developed by Dr. J. Clay Thompson, 1957).
This technique is extremely gentle. Being based on Newton’s first law of motion it makes full use of the kinetic energy available. This table also simplifies making adjustments to extremities.

Toggle Recoil

this technique was developed by B.J. Palmer (D.D. Palmers son). This technique concentrates on the adjustment of Atlas (C1) and Axis (C2).

What makes the Atlas so special?

The Atlas (C1) forms the joint between the base of the skull above and the second cervical vertebra below, called the Axis (C2). The first two cervical vertebrae (C1,C2) – Atlas and Axis and our Occiput make up a highly complex region of human bone structure because there are no intervertebral discs between the Occiput, C1 and C2. C1 and C2 work together as a single unit (pivot and swivel) giving the cervical vertebrae the greatest possible freedom of movement needed for turning and nodding movements of the head. In addition to this, the whole region is the all-important interface between the brain and the spinal chord due to the fact that the Atlas and the Occiput are connected by the mantle of the spinal chord (Dura Mater). Approximately 90% of all mechanical propriorceptors are to be found in the top cervical vertebrae and are responsible for our sense of position and motion. When correcting adjustments are made to the Atlas, the mechanical receptors around the Atlas can, in-turn, have a positive effect on the statics of the cervical and lumbar vertebrae. Adjustments made to this body region by your chiropractor will have a decisive influence on your body as a whole.

The Activator

This technique makes use of a specially developed instrument known as the Activator. This technique is especially gentle and therefore ideally suitable for young children and senior citizens.
