The art of adjustment

Chiropractor training and education is carried out in the USA at special chiropractic universities. The chiropractor undergoes focused orthopaedic and neurological training and is in a position to correctly interpret x-ray images and other image-related diagnostic procedures. In addition to this, the specialist also has a profound knowledge of human biomechanics and is, therefore, aware of many problems that can stem from neuromuscular disorders. The chiropractor uses gentle, controlled and targeted pressure on various areas of the musculoskeletal system in order to restore the biomechanics of the spinal column and the function of the nervous system. The main objective of this work is to correct all problems connected with the flow of information from and to the brain.

The art of chiropractic is based on the three steps of location and removal of the subluxation also known as the three “A” s.

  1. The analysis - in order to locate the subluxation.
  2. The adjustment - in order to remove the subluxation.
  3. The assessment - qualified judgment, revision and determination of further treatment (type and scope)

What is chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is (usually) the manual restoration of normal mobility and function of the spinal column in order to restore the normal function of the nervous system. By doing so, it corrects the cause of the problem and removes the physical block interfering with the transmission of nerve impulses.

A chiropractic adjustment releases the life energy (light) within the body. This allows each and every individual, no matter whether they be new born babies, athletes or senior citizens to enjoy more life energy. It enhances the healing potential of the body, mind and soul.

A chiropractic adjustment is different from spinal manipulations carried out by physiotherapists, osteopaths or manual therapists in that it is far more specific.
Joints are not “mobilised”, the subluxations are removed.

A chiropractic adjustment is a manual art form that demands great knowledge and dexterity. To master this art, means to master the well-founded university course and gaining experience through a great deal of practical training.

It is important to gain a deep understanding of the philosophy of chiropractic in order to be able to practise the art of chiropractic in a correct manner.
Without undergoing a specific analysis (location of the subluxation is one of the position and relation to the normal state), the hope of restoring balance to the nervous system is limited to pure chance.
It is this that differentiates proper chiropractic treatment but from the general unspecific manipulation of the spinal column.
